Beauty Symposium Recap

Peclers Paris: Trend Forecasting 2020

For this year’s annual FGI Trend Forecasting event, we welcomed Peclers Paris to the Thompson Toronto to share with us their inside scoop on upcoming trends for Spring 2020.

As guests arrived, they were welcomed by familiar faces and FGI members, and were offered a glass of champagne to start the evening. A quick pose for the cameras in front of the FGI Step and repeat wall and into the wildflower room for nibbles and networking.

Once all the guests had arrived and champagne had been sipped, guests headed into the Wellington Ballroom for the presentation.

Fiona Atzler and Regan Timpson of Peclers Paris took us through informative and visually beautiful slides to share their trend secrets with us, none of which can be repeated, of course! Guests got to take notes and participate in the presentation by asking questions. FGI members described the presentation as “very informative”, “inspiring”, and “impeccably detailed”. Peclers took us through four different types of women and how the trends would follow in their footsteps.

Visionary Awards Night 2018

We were pleased to honour Roxy Earle, Christopher Bates, Laurie Belzak with 2018 Visionary Awards at a special event.

We started at the Wildflower Lounge with cocktails and nibbles. Guests networked and photos were arranged in front of the Fashion Group International Toronto Step and Repeat Wall. We moved to the Wellington room for welcoming remarks from Regional Director Roger Gingerich and Board Member Jennifer Dawson.

We had a fireside chat, audience questions followed by the award presentation for each 2018 Visionary Award Recipient Shenaz Mohammed chatted with Roxy Earle, Tania Semper chatted with Christopher Bates and Klaudia Capalbo chatted with Laurie Belzak.

Recipients receive a beautiful glass sculpture award with engraving and a framed Sabina Fenn original illustration as a keepsake.

Notable guests included: previous Visionary Award winners Susan Langdon & Robin Kay, Lisa Tant, Commonwealth Games champion Alysha Newman, Miss Intercontinental 2018 Alice Li, Roxy Earle x LE CHÂTEAU Team.

FGI Toronto launches Straight/Curve in Canada!

On April 23rd, FGI Toronto presented a film & conversation event with Straight/Curve to challenge society's Beauty Standards.
